Canadian Association of South Asian Lawyers celebrated its Annual Gala with The Honourable Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario on April 20, 2012.
The event was attended by more than 450 guests, including members of the Judiciary, Bar, OCAA, DOJ, LSUC, OBA, Ministers of the Provincial Government, and Members of Provincial Parliament. The event was held at the Versailles Convention Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Our chief guest of the evening and the keynote speaker was The Honourable Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario.
In celebration and recognition of the achievements and exceptional contributions made by South Asians in law and the legal profession, CASAL honoured two South Asian trailblazers, The Honourable Mr. Wally Oppal, Chairman, Missing Women Inquiry, British Columbia (previously Attorney General British Columbia and Former Justice of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia) and the Honourable Mr. Justice Russell Juriansz from the Ontario Court of Appeal. The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Mr. Alfred Ramchander Sawh, Q.C.
